Frequently Asked Questions

Château Okanagan is a 44-acre private lakefront estate in Kelowna, BC, with two distinct properties: the Grand Residence and the Estate Villa. Together they offer 12 rooms across the two properties, with nearly 1 km of private shoreline, five beaches, two infinity pools, and a European-inspired spa.

The Grand Residence is the flagship property with eight rooms, booked exclusively as a whole property for up to 16 guests. The Estate Villa is a newer four-suite property that can be booked by the room, as a full villa (up to 8 guests), or combined with the Grand Residence for up to 24 guests total.

At the Estate Villa, yes. Individual suites are available from $1,000 per night. The Grand Residence is whole-property only and cannot be divided into individual room bookings.

Yes. The Grand Residence has a three-night minimum stay. The Estate Villa has a two-night minimum stay.

We recommend booking at least three months in advance for peak season (June through September) and major holidays. Off-peak dates may be available on shorter notice. Contact our team for current availability.

Daily breakfast is included with every stay. Lunch and dinner are available as additional services, prepared by our Estate Chef using locally sourced Okanagan ingredients. Contact us to discuss dining packages for your group.

Absolutely. Our Chef accommodates all dietary needs including allergies, gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, kosher, and halal requirements. Please share your requirements at the time of booking.

On-site amenities include tennis, two infinity pools, a European spa, private beaches, kayaking, and a home theatre. Off-site, our team can arrange wine tours, golf, helicopter tours, skiing at Big White (winter), heli-skiing, fishing, and more. Most experiences can be arranged within 48 hours of request.

Yes. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout both properties and across the estate grounds.

Château Okanagan is a pet-free property. Pets require prior written approval from management at least 30 days before arrival. Service animals are permitted. Please contact us to discuss.

The estate can accommodate private events, celebrations, and corporate retreats. Outside vendors, caterers, and performers require advance approval. Event requests should be submitted at least 60 days prior to arrival. Additional fees may apply.

Guest Policies

Booking & Reservations

Château Okanagan is available exclusively for whole-property private rentals. The entire estate, including all eight guest rooms, all amenities, the spa, and all outdoor spaces, is reserved exclusively for a single group at a time. Partial bookings or room-by-room reservations are not available.

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of the required deposit or full payment as outlined below.

Château Okanagan does not accept bookings from third parties or booking agencies without prior written approval. All reservations must be made directly with our team or through our official booking platform.

Minimum Stay

Grand Residence: three-night minimum.

Estate Villa: two-night minimum.

Payment

A deposit of 50% of the total booking value is required at the time of reservation to confirm your dates. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

For bookings made within 60 days of the arrival date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

Accepted payment methods include major credit cards and wire transfer. All prices are in Canadian dollars and are exclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 90 days before arrival: Full refund of deposit, minus a $500 administrative fee.
  • 60 to 90 days before arrival: 50% of total booking value is forfeited.
  • Less than 60 days before arrival: No refund. The full booking value is forfeited.

We strongly recommend travel insurance that includes trip cancellation coverage. Château Okanagan is not responsible for cancellations due to weather, illness, travel disruptions, or other circumstances outside our control.

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@chateauokanagan.com. Cancellations are effective on the date the written notice is received.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: 4:00 PM on your arrival date.

Check-out: 11:00 AM on your departure date.

Early check-in and late check-out may be available subject to scheduling and must be arranged in advance. Additional fees may apply. Please contact our team to discuss your arrival and departure plans.

Guests & Occupancy

The estate accommodates a maximum of 24 overnight guests at double occupancy. Day visitors (guests not staying overnight) must be approved in advance and are limited to a reasonable number consistent with the private and exclusive nature of the estate.

The registered guest (the person making the booking) is responsible for the conduct of all guests during the stay. All guests must be at least 18 years of age, or accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Quiet Hours & Noise

Out of respect for the surrounding neighbourhood and the serene nature of the estate, quiet hours are observed between 11:00 PM and 8:00 AM. During quiet hours, music and outdoor activities must be kept at a reasonable level.

Château Okanagan is a private residential estate. Excessive noise at any hour that disturbs neighbours may result in additional charges or early termination of the stay.

Smoking Policy

Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaping) is strictly prohibited inside all buildings on the estate. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available. A deep cleaning fee of $1,500 will be charged if evidence of indoor smoking is found.

Pet Policy

Château Okanagan is a pet-free property. No animals of any kind are permitted on the estate without prior written approval from management. Unauthorized pets will result in additional cleaning fees and may result in termination of the stay without refund.

Damage & Security Deposit

A security deposit will be collected prior to or upon check-in. The deposit amount will be communicated at the time of booking. The deposit is fully refundable within 14 days of check-out, provided there is no damage to the property, furnishings, or equipment beyond reasonable wear and tear.

Any damage exceeding the security deposit will be the responsibility of the registered guest and will be invoiced accordingly. Château Okanagan reserves the right to charge the credit card on file for damages discovered after departure.

Events & Gatherings

Château Okanagan is an ideal setting for private celebrations, corporate retreats, wedding weekends, and other special events. Events beyond a standard family or friend group gathering (i.e., events with outside vendors, caterers, performers, or additional day guests) require prior approval and may be subject to additional fees and terms.
